Hypermiling

Though the term "hypermiling" is a new word, the concepts it is based on are not at all new. We have just never had a specific name for it until now.

However, with gas prices soaring to the extortion levels, people (out of necessity) have started to pay more attention to how much fuel they are using.

And thus the word "hypermiling" has been born. The term "hypermiling" (originally coined by Wayne Gerdes) in simple terms means getting the best gas mileage out of the fuel you have.

Before the word "hypermiling" was born, "hypermiling" was just referred too as sensible fuel economy, or common-sense driving practice.

But today, getting the most for your money (by squeezing out the maximum mileage per gallon of gas) has become a specialized field, with the name "hypermiling."

A lot of "controversy" has been built up around the subject of hypermiling. Some claim it is dangerous or state that it causes accidents, etc. These statements are about as intelligent as the statement that driving is dangerous or causes car crashes.

Of course, if there were no cars on the road, there would be no car accidents. That is about the level of logic we are using when we say that hypermiling is dangerous or controversial.

Before the subject of Hypermiling came about, we would have heard about "safe and unsafe driving practices." These days, in the interest of controversy, we no longer hear about "unsafe driving practices," but about hypermiling. I guess monkey learned a new trick.

Lets take a look at what hypermiling is, and what a few of the hypermiling techniques are:

First of all, a common hypermiling practice is to plan one's trips a little more carefully, so as to avoid unnecessary driving. That's common sense, I would say. But it's not something we were too careful about when fuel was cheap.

Another favorite hypermiling technique is staying within the speed-limit, since driving at higher speeds wastes fuel. Avoiding excessive idling of ones engine is also a key hypermiling tactic, as you are getting zero miles per gallon when you are standing still. What is interesting about this last point is that, for years now, we have had cars whose engines switch to "hibernate mode" after standing still for a few seconds, in order to avoid wasting fuel. "Hibernating" here means that the engine "switches off" and starts up again the moment you hit the gas peddle with your foot.

Making sure that your tires are inflated properly (not under-inflated and not over-inflated) according to manufacturer's instructions, is also a hypermiling technique. That might sound like a minor detail to some, but if you have ever ridden a bicycle with tires that were under-inflated you will have a good idea how much extra energy it takes, as compared to riding with correctly inflated tires.

Well, the same goes for a car. Under-inflated tires make your engine work harder and consume more fuel. Try riding a bicycle with badly inflated tires sometime, and you will get a good idea of what I am talking about. A car handles better with correct tire pressure, which also gives you a lot more control when you are driving (and is thus safer).

I could go on and on, and could detail many other points of hypermiling. But I think the above examples serve to show you that we are really just talking about common sense. (More gas saving tips can also be found at Hypermiling.)

The only real truth in all this controversy is that there are safe drivers and there are unsafe drivers. But that's not new. And this fact did not arrive with the subject of hypermiling. It will not go away with the subject of hypermiling either.

Some people are smart and some are less so. That's nothing new and it's not something we didn't already know.

I guess it's those people who are "less so," who feel they need to create a "controversy" around a subject such as hypermiling. Maybe it makes them feel clever.

The fact is, hypermiling consists of safe and sensible ways to improve gas mileage. Just as one could drive unsafely in the interest of better gas mileage, one could also be a maniac gas-guzzler who speeds around turns, slams on his brakes, and pays high gas prices as a result.

Real hypermiling techniques involve safe and sensible driving habits.

Regardless, hypermiling simply consists of a set of techniques and driving practices which are used to get better gas mileage, using common sense and safe driving practices.

A simple E-Book which teaches hypermiling techniques, which anyone can learn and instantly apply in order to save money on gas immediately, can be found at Hypermiling and Other Gas Saving Secrets.

Water Gas Power Can Be Done

Alternative fuel sources to power our homes, cars, and equipment are being developed on a regular basis in the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate the toxic substances that are sent into the air we breathe everyday. Researchers and scientists are coming up with new solutions to try and solve the problems we face in the future as more and more emissions are messing up the planet and endangering the environment. Test models of vehicles that run on water gas power have hit the streets and are proving to be quite efficient as well as environmentally friendly. Acid rain and smog could be a thing of the past as the only thing emitted from the tailpipes of these cars is steam. The planet would have a chance to recover from years of damage if given the opportunity.

Technology has lead to the development of hydrogen fuel cells that could power cars, heating systems, and other equipment as we search for ways to efficiently and economically live day to day. At this point in time, there are some problems to be worked out with hydrogen cells but experts agree that it shouldn't be too far off in the future that these cells will be the solution to many of our environmental issues. Automotive manufacturers are exploring all the avenues available to them to make cars that run using water as their fuel source an affordable alternative to those running on fossil fuels.

As the population grows and the demand for vehicles rises, the amount of pollution in our atmosphere increases at a rapid pace. The cost of production of fossil fuels has swelled and some predict availability may be limited in the future. Cars using water gas power can save people thousands in fuel and maintenance costs as water is in ample supply and the steam produced by them will keep engines virtually self cleaning. For those who believe the planet will suffer from a water shortage, take into consideration that the steam emitted into the air by these cars will be condensed back into water vapor that will replenish our waterways. Oxygen released by condensation will also be released into the atmosphere and increase the oxygen levels that are being affected by greenhouse gases.

Many people have different opinions on the subject of the environment and how to improve the health of the planet and our living conditions. The use of hydrogen fuel cells for the operation of much of the equipment we drive, heat our homes with, and rely on can reduce the impact and damage inflicted to our surroundings by the side effects of burning fossil fuels. Some scientists believe that it is still not too late to stop the harm we are doing and give the planet a chance to recover.

Tips For Finding High Performance Car Parts

We all know that there are high performance car parts that will improve the performance of your engine such as turbos, superchargers, manifolds, NOS kits etc. The thing a lot of want-to-bee's don't understand however is every part of your car can be upgraded with high performance car parts to improve its performance. You can replace your stock rims and tyres, a better exhaust can make a significant difference to your horsepower, new suspension will dramatically improve handling, and you can even fit new or reshaped body panels to improve the aerodynamics of your car and to improve its appearance.

There is a difference between High Performance Car Parts and After Market Parts

Many people think that aftermarket parts and high performance car parts are the same thing, and they are dead wrong! By definition high performance car parts are aftermarket parts; but not all aftermarket parts are created equally - just because something looks right does not mean that it will do what you want it to. If you want your car to run faster, sound better have more grunt etc or even if you want to make improvements or changes to the body work you want to know that the parts you are using are going to last and perform properly in the long run.

When you buy high performance car parts make sure that you are buying them from experts in the field, a company that knows the products they are selling and that have high quality performance parts. A reputable company will be able to advise you about the parts and help you to choose the best part for what you want to do.

For Improved Safety, Performance & Looks Think About Retrofit Flatblade Wiper Blades

Don't forget Frameless Wiperblades when you're customising your car. Until recently, Flatblade Wipers have only been available as Original Equipment on expensive Supercars such as Lamborghini, Styling Project.

Until fairly recently, the OEM Makers of these parts had decided to make these Original Equipment Flatblade Wipers not only incompatible with existing Wiper Systems, but also incompatible with Competitors’ Flatblade Wipers Systems. Therefore, in order to fit Flatblade Wipers to your car, you would first of all have had to do quite a bit of expensive engineering work to your Wiper Arms. After you've done all that, because of the Exclusivity and patent protection on the Connecting System, you'd then find yourself locked into one Expensive Supplier for the Replacement Flatblade Wipers.
Fortunately, there are now several manufacturers making good quality Retrofit Flatblade wipers which will fit on almost any car made in the last 20 years which doesn't have Flatblade Wipers as OEM equipment.

Now you can have the Flatblade Wipers look in 2 clicks, AND you know you won’t be ripped off when the time comes to replace them, because Retrofit Flatblade wipers have Universal Fittings, so no-one has a monopoly on supply.

Retrofit flat wiperblades, also offer great performance, comfort and safety advantages over traditional wiper blades.

Firstly, the pressure is spread completely evenly along the length of the blade. This makes sure that the blade wears evenly, and remains in contact with the windscreen along the entire length of the blade.
Secondly, there are no joints to wear or seize, this further enhances the blade’s ability to follow the windscreen contours for a clean clear wipe. It also drastically reduces the risk of juddering & other noise.
Finally, the structure of Flatblade Wipers ensures the blade is very securely held at the correct angle to the windscreen. This is vital for Clean, Clear, Quiet wiping, and a long useful life.

Now you can even get Retrofit Flat Silicone Wiper Blades instead of Rubber.

Quality Silicone Windscreen Wiper Blades typically last 3 times longer than the best Rubber Blades, and what’s more they perform much better in extreme conditions, because Silicone remains much more flexible at low temperatures (operating down to minus 60°C), thereby ensuring a much safer, and more effective wipe on those cold dark winter mornings. Unlike Rubber, Silicone Windscreen Wiper Blades don’t crack at low ambient temperatures, and Silicone doesn’t allow Ice to stick to it, so it protects Wiper Arms, linkages & Motors when starting from extreme cold.

So whether you’re after Looks, Performance, Safety, or just Value for Money. There'll now be Flatblade Wipers for you too!

Should You Run Your Car On Water? Maybe… If You Have Water Car Pro

Hybrid cars are definitely something we need to think about. As gas prices rise and the planet gets into worse shape every day, now has never been a better time to start thinking about alternative energy.

run a car with water <– Click here to visit!

I would love to hear of someone that has used Water Car Pro and found it to be not worth the money. The guide is new, but it already has a lot of happy customers, and I haven't heard any negative feedback for it… yet. But until I find something seriously wrong or messed up with it, I am going to give it my #1 recommendation, just because it is so easy to use.

By the way, there are several guides that teach you how to run your car on water. It's up to you which one you want to get.

run your car on water <– Click here to visit!

I came across the site above just yesterday, which does look interesting. Apparently, you can convert your car to run on water even if you have very little technical knowledge, and you can do it for under $200.

To be honest, I think it would be a lot easier to convert your car if you have at least some technical knowledge. A guide like Water Car Pro will make everything a lot easier for you. However, it may not necessarily be a total walk in the park. It may take a little time if you have never done it before.

That said, if you know absolutely nothing, then I reckon Water Car Pro is the best guide for you to get. It is just way easier to understand (and is much better presented) than other guides I have looked at.

water powered cars <– Click here to visit!

I have actually met a couple of people that have successfully converted their cars to run on water. I need to know this, seeing as how I constantly have to review products and guides on how to make your car run on water. So far, I have never met anyone that has damaged their car when trying to convert it to use water instead of gas.

The guide most people I know use is Water Car Pro, which is by a guy named Oliver South. I think that Oliver is just the guy managing it, and it is written by someone else. The system in that book has also been tested by a couple of mechanics and is proven to work.

Get A New Vehicle Every Month By Utilizing Car Decals

If you've just bought a car, you're likely still in that phase wherein you're obsessing about how your car looks. And if you want your car to stand out when you're driving it on the road, meet your new best friend: car decals. Car decals are an inexpensive way you can jazz up your good old used automobile. With car decals, you can practically give your car a new look every month, so much so that it would almost look like you have a new car each time!

There are different kinds of car decals or stickers. They can be as small as your hand or so big that they stretch out the entire length of the side of your car. More than just your average bumper sticker, car decals of today are used to jazz up your car and make it appear to be an extension of your personality. There are many designs to choose from, and even car decal kits which you can have custom-made. These car accessories ensures that the look you do end up with for your car is really, entirely your own.

These are the different kinds of car decals used these days:

Window graphics

These decals are those see-through stickers that you place on your glass windows to keep out the heat and bright sunlight, prevent your interiors from fading prematurely, as well as offering privacy. They're made of micro-perforated sheets, usually similar to latex or vinyl, enabling you to still be able to see the road, while those outside the car will only see the design of the decal.

Fullside decals

Have you seen the cars in the movie The Fast and The Furious, and of course its sequel? Those nice flames streaking across the sides of their cars are actually just stick ons, and definitely not anything to be ashamed of, given their shiny beauty. Fullside decals come in many different designs, such as flames, tribal art, patriotic, European flag colors, checkered geometrics, comic characters, animals, or even your own custom design. Some fullside decal designs also come with matching hood designs.

Hood decals

These are large stickers that you place smack in the center of your hood. If you like a bigger, more elaborate design, there are some hood decals that are mirror images of each other and spread out over your entire hood. These decals are carwash safe and the best thing about them is you can change the design whenever you wish, especially with the new magnetic type decals. It's quite easy to take them on and off, though you'll need to know the correct procedure and follow the directions carefully.

It doesn't matter what color your car is, fullside and hood decals come in many different colors that will complement your current paint job. Aside from the more standard colors of black, white, red and Olympic blue, stickers also come in colors like magenta, teal, yellow, beige, gun metal grey, sapphire blue, dark green, burgundy, teal, lime green, orange, even gold and silver. Given all these choices, the possibilities of owning a "new" car every now and then are endless. These accessories are powerful enhancements of your used auto
