CNG And Biodiesel

It is not uncommon for people to compare different alternative fuels.. Indeed getting the pros and cons for each alternative is the best way to determine the best option. You want to find out what alternative fuel is going to save you the most money and be the best for your vehicle and the earth.

You have to look at many different factors. Do not make a choice just on the basis of what is popular. Get the facts and learn what you can so your decision is an informed one.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

CNG, Compressed Natural Gas, is an alternative fuel. This type of alternative fuel is commonly available in California, although it can be found randomly throughout the United States. The CNG fuel can only run CNG based vehicles. It can be made at home through a special unit available mostly from manufacturers of CNG vehicles.

CNG also has been criticized for producing high levels of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Also it is less powerful than regular fuel. CNG, however, is more affordable compared to any other fuel alternative.

Looking at Biodiesel

Biodiesel is made from vegetable oil, lye and ethanol. It is a safe fuel that does not have the high risk of explosion or fire. It runs smoothly offering the same power as regular diesel provides. Biodiesel can also run any diesel vehicle.

Biodiesel can be purchased at many gas stations around the country. home-made bio diesel is also possible. Biodiesel is environment friendly since it burns cleanly and produces no significantly level of emissions.

Bottom Line

Between CNG and Biodiesel, the latter appears to be more user friendly. You can get it easier because it is readily available. You are not required to invest on equipment to make it either. Biodiesel production is doable since inputs are readily available from commonly used everyday items .

Biodiesel is also much safer. It is environment friendly since it contains no pollutive components. It also will not reduce the power your vehicle has so you will not notice the switch to an alternative fuel.

CNG may be fine for people who live in California where it is available or who have the money to buy a CNG vehicle. For those outside California without much fund to acquire a CNG vehicle or the required CNG equipment for refueling, the CNG fuel is a better choice.
